May 16, 2023 — Experience three days of savings at the Diskwento Caravan organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), with the theme “Presyong Panalo Para Sa Mamimiling Bataeño.”This event is happening from March 16, 2023, until May 18, 2023, at Plaza Mayor de Balanga.
From necessities, prime commodities, and products from local Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), this program aims to relieve consumers and daily wage earners by offering a minimum of ten percent (10%) discount on all items.
In her welcome remarks, DTI OIC-Provincial Director Ms. Eileen Ocampo expressed her delight in allowing consumers to purchase goods at discounted prices while helping merchants reach a broader customer base for three days. She also expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Government of Bataan,the Local Government of Balanga, the City Economic Investment and Development Office (CEIDO), the General Services Office (GSO), the Consumer Protection Division, and the local media for their support.
Vice Mayor Hon. Vianca Lita Gozon shared her entrepreneurial journey during her youth, reminiscing about her venture selling pastillas. Drawing from her own experience, she emphasized the significance of this event for entrepreneurs to gain valuable exposure and showcase their exceptional products.
The program was formally launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of Vice Mayor Gozon, DTI OIC-Provincial Director Ms. Ocampo, and staff from DTI. Also in attendance were Sangguniang Panlungsod members Hon. Pedro Yuzon and Hon. Benigno Meriño, along with the distinguished Bataan Consumer Affair Council President, Mr. Rolly Dizon.
This joint project of DTI Region 3, DTI Bataan, Trabaho Negosyo Konsyumer, the Provincial Government of Bataan, and the Local Government of Balanga brings together merchants from Bataan and other municipalities in Nueva Ecija, Marikina, Rizal, and Pampanga. Around eighty (80) stalls are estimated to participate, with the possibility of even more joining the event.
