Functions

By virtue of DILG MC 2020-167 dated 9 October 2020 and Office Order 01-09 series of 2022, the CEIDO, with its Department Head as the designated Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officers (LEDIPO) of the City of Balanga, shall focus on the following:

• Facilitate the preparation, coordination, and execution of local economic and investment promotion policies, projects and activities of the City of Balanga and its Barangays;
• Facilitate the establishment of an aggressive, systematic, coordinated, sustained promotion and marketing of the City of Balanga;
• Provide basic information about business potentials of Balanga City including LGU services to prospective investors to attract more investments to flow in the community;
• Establish a local economic database containing relevant facts and figures;
• Coordinate with other offices in the promotion of economic activities such as the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), City Budget Office (CBO), and the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP);
• Coordinate with the private sector in investment promotion campaigns; and
• Conduct information dissemination on local government policies on investment, investment wage law, required permits, etc.

It is the goal of CEIDO to attract new businesses for job generation and increase per capita income.  CEIDO shall strive to be a one-stop-shop for investor’s needs and offer assistance, resources, and other tools to aid in creating, expanding, and retaining businesses in the City of Balanga.

CEIDO shall offer the following services:

1. Business Information and economic analysis
2. Incentive opportunities for new businesses
3. Site location services for relocations and expansions
4. Consulting services for small businesses
5. Investment promotion in the City of Balanga
