April 21, 2023 – The nine (9) finalists of “Balanga City Idols 2023” took the stage once again as they head on to the final showdown at Plaza Mayor de Balanga. The event aims to celebrate the power of music and community spirit by providing a platform for individuals to express their unique talents and skills.

On behalf of City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia, Vice-Mayor Vianca Lita Gozon and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Committee Chairperson on Tourism Hon. Jowee Nisay Zabala thanked the Balanga City Tourism Council (BCTC) Chairperson Mayora Raquel Garcia and President Ms. Sherrie Gonzalo, selected city departments and their heads namely City Tourism Office, Management Information Services Office (MISO), and General Services Office (GSO), teachers, and barangay staff for their efforts in making the event a success. She also emphasized that the contestants’ exceptional talents and abilities were already a testament to the city being a #BalangaKahangahanga.

To brighten up the program, Mr. Ace Espinosa and the nine (9) finalists gave an outstanding intermission number.

On the other hand, Dr. Francisco Pascual, one of the Board of Judges, expressed the difficulty of judging because the Balangueños are very talented. He also urged the contestants who did not make the cut to continue practicing since the talent is already there.

After expressing his gratitude, City Tourism Officer Mr. Norlie Castro urged the citizens to continue supporting the upcoming events such as Munting Balangueña Coronation Night on April 24, Banga Festival on April 26, and La Torre and Serenata on April 27, as part of Pistang Balangueño celebration.

Meanwhile, before announcing the winners, a final walk was performed by the contestants.

The consolation prize was Php 2,000.00. On the other hand, five (5) winners in no particular order received Php 7,000.00:

  • Jhumer M. Bautista from BNHS – JHS
  • Zahara Kate D. Banzon from COBNHS – SHS
  • Allaine E. Viesca from BNHS – SHS
  • Alexis Aerielle V. De Mesa from BNHS – SHS
