March 15, 2023 — At Balanga Public Market, the Agriculture Sector of the Local Government of Balanga celebrated their program dedicated to St. Joseph, to honor families and laborers by recognizing their struggles, capabilities, and commitment. This was made possible through the leadership of City Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia, Vice-Mayor Vianca Lita V. Gozon, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The festival was attended by fisherfolks and farmers who are selling their goods at a lower price. Afterward, with the participation of vendors from Balanga City Public Market, a singing competition was held. Winners in the competition are: Champion – Ms. Lovely Calma from the Fish Section, 2nd Place – Ms. Aurora Crisostomo from the Fruits Section, and 3rd Place Mr. Pastor Mercado from the Vegetable Section.
Meanwhile, more knowledge and information was gained in the program through the remarks made by the Committee Chairperson on Agriculture Hon. Benigno Meriño, City Agriculturist Ms. Nerissa Mateo, and San Jose Barangay Captain Mr. Ronald “Agoy” Sangalang.
At the same event, a performance was presented by Barangay Pto. Rivas Lote dancers, Mr. Jose Reyes, and DFS Treasurer Ma. Cristina Cagalitan to put a dash of entertainment in the program.
No industry truly falls behind when it comes to programs initiated by the Local Government of Balanga that cater to the needs of citizens, their family, and the community.
