The Plaza Mayor de Balanga was once again filled with charm and celebration as the 2025 Munting Balangueña unfolded on April 23, 2025, honoring the spirit, talent, and creativity of young Balangueñas in an event rooted in pride and community.
Aligned with Balanga City’s commitment as a child-friendly local government unit, this year’s pageant provided a safe, inclusive space where children were not only celebrated but also empowered to express themselves with grace and confidence.
Councilor Hon. Jowee Nisay, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, formally opened the program by emphasizing that Munting Balangueña goes beyond aesthetics. “This is not merely a pageant. It is a developmental platform that cultivates discipline, self-worth, and cultural appreciation among the youth,” she noted.
Mayora Raquel Garcia, Chairperson of the Balanga City Tourism Council, also reflected on how the event was conceptualized and how it continues to grow with the support of partner offices and the heartfelt participation of each young candidate. She extended her congratulations to the contestants, encouraging them to simply enjoy the moment.
Mayora Raquel also highlighted how the 2025 Munting Balangueña was backed by the unwavering support of generous sponsors, barangays, and the Balangueños, who stood as a tribute to unity, youth empowerment, and cultural pride. She thanked City Mayor Hon. Francis Anthony Garcia, Vice Mayor Hon. Vianca Lita Gozon, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod for their continued support, as well as the City Tourism Office led by Mr. Norlie Castro and the Balanga City Tourism Council headed by Ms. Sherrie Banzon-Gonzalo. According to her, it is through this shared commitment that the event continues to grow and inspire the next generation of Balangueñas.
The event opened with a vibrant production number featuring both the current and past candidates of Munting Balangueña, followed by rounds of competition that showcased casual wear, talent, and formal evening gown presentations. Intermission numbers from 2023 titleholders added continuity and celebration to the program. The pageant also featured a casual interview segment and a final Q&A for the top five finalists.
The contestants were serenaded by event host Mr. Kristoffer Quiambao, adding a heartfelt moment prior to the announcement of special awards, including recognitions for the following:
