The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region III held a press briefing on July 2, 2024, at The Bunker, to discuss their eGov Launching and eLGU Kickoff program in Bataan.
Scheduled for July 9, 2024, the program underscores the DICT’s commitment to advancing digital transformation across the Philippine archipelago through innovation and technology. The event fosters partnerships among local government units, provincial offices, and stakeholders, as key drivers of regional innovation and technological advancement.
Meanwhile, the incoming DICT Bataan Provincial Head, Engr. Steffan Dale Dean Martensen was introduced to the City Government of Balanga through the Management Information Services Office, marking a collaborative spirit of the ICT initiatives in the city.
Following this, Engr. Antonio Edward Padre, DICT III Regional Director, led the turnover ceremony of the Philippine IT-BPM Industry Roadmap for 2028 to City Mayor Hon. Francis Anthony S. Garcia. Balanga, recognized as a digital city by the DICT, has leveraged advanced information systems to optimize and enhance government transactions, making them more efficient and accessible to residents.
Bataan Provincial Governor Hon. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, who attended the activity, shared insights on improving the ICT ecosystem in the province. He emphasized his province-wide plan to enhance the ICT infrastructure by enjoining all municipalities in the program, reinforcing the collaborative effort to drive technological progress in Bataan.
The press briefing also discussed various eGovernment projects, including the eGovPH App, eLGU, eTravel, EGovPay, eGovCloud, and eReport.
