June 28, 2024 – The BNHS Auditorium was abuzz with excitement and pride as the City Government of Balanga, under the visionary leadership of Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia, hosted the “Batang Sining, Batang Matatag 2024” Culminating Activity. The event, spearheaded by the City Education and Excellence Development Office (CEEDO), celebrated the artistic achievements of students from across the province who had participated in a two-week intensive workshop honing their chosen specializations.

Students engaged in various disciplines, including Visual Arts, Digital Arts, Arts and Crafts, Modern Dance, Dance Sports, Vocals, and Instruments such as Ukulele, Strings, Percussion, and Violin. These workshops aimed to enhance their artistic skills and instill resilience and a sense of community.

The ceremony began with an inspiring opening remark by Dr. Alma V. Poblete, Principal of BNHS-JHS, setting an enthusiastic tone for the event. This was followed by an uplifting 

inspirational message from Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Maylene Minimo and Committee Chair on Education, Hon. Vic Baluyot, both emphasizing the importance of arts in education and personal development. 

Further, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Cong. Jett Nisay also gave an inspiring message wherein he strives to provide excellent public service to the Balanguenos, particularly the younger generation. By enhancing their education and skills, he empowers them to become the best versions of themselves and valuable contributors to the community. Additionally, he has committed to securing funding and a budget for constructing the Mini Theater at BNHS-JHS, further supporting the development of local talent and cultural enrichment.

CEEDO Acting Department Head, Ms. Tarra Ann Pagdanganan, delivered Words of Challenge, encouraging the young artists to continue pursuing their passions and to view their talents as tools for positive change in their communities.

The event’s highlight was the performances from each specialization wherein they showcased their talents. Recognitions were given to the most outstanding students in both the beginner and advanced categories, celebrating their dedication and excellence. Every student also received a certificate of completion, marking their achievements and growth throughout the workshop.

The ceremony culminated in a heartwarming unity dance, where students, guests, and facilitators joined together in a spirited performance. This dance symbolized the harmony and collective creativity that Batang Sining 2024 aimed to foster, bringing a joyful close to the enriching event.

“Batang Sining, Batang Matatag 2024” not only showcased the artistic talents of Balanga’s youth but also highlighted the city’s commitment to nurturing creativity and resilience among its young citizens. The event stands as a testament to the power of arts education in shaping a brighter, more vibrant future for the community.
