On January 24, 2024, the City of Balanga actively participated in UNESCO’s celebration of the International Day of Education. This event, spearheaded by the City Education & Excellence Development Office (CEEDO) at Emiliana Hall, reflects the city’s strong commitment to lifelong learning.
Ms. Tarra Ann Pagdanganan, the OIC of CEEDO, and Dr. Roland Fronda, the Schools Division Superintendent, extended a warm welcome to participants, coaches, and judges who actively engaged in the program themed “Learning for Lasting Peace.”
Meanwhile, Balanga’s recognition as the sole learning city in the Philippines by UNESCO in 2015 serves as a testament to its unwavering commitment to education, a commitment further fueled under the leadership of City Mayor Hon. Francis Anthony S. Garcia. In his message, Mayor Garcia emphasized the city’s ongoing initiatives to promote continuous learning and skill enhancement within the community.
