April 17, 2023 – Twenty-three (23) adorable Munting Balangueña contestants showed off their talents and pageant walk during the pre-pageant night on April 17 at Vista Mall, Bataan.
Gracing the event were Balanga City Tourism Council chairperson Mayora Raquel Garcia, Committee Chairperson on Tourism Councilor Jowee N. Zabala who warmly greeted the attendees, city department heads, and barangay captains.
In her message, Mayora Garcia explained why the Munting Balangueña pageant was formed. Her council believed that this is one of the ways to showcase the talents of Balangueños, proving that Balanga is really a #BalangaKahangahanga. Further, she shared that such events help improve the self-esteem of children by exposing them to a healthy competition that develops their social skills and creates friendship with other kids.
The highlights of the event were the casual wear competition and the talent portion wherein the twenty-three (23) Munting Balangueña contestants from various barangays demonstrated their best talents, including, singing, dancing, and spoken word poetry.
Special awards were given to the following:
- Miss Kidzoona – Megan Auley Ongkingco (Brgy. San Jose)
- Miss Cuisine Ala More – Sairah Jane Anib (Brgy. Tenejero)
- Miss AllToys – Sairah Jane Anib (Brgy. Tenejero)
- AllGreen Choice Awards – Megan Auley Ongkingco (Brgy. San Jose)
City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Mr. Norlie Castro invited everyone to witness the awarding of Best Talent, Best Casual Wear, as well as the Coronation Night, on April 24, 2023 at Plaza Mayor de Balanga.
