April 24, 2023 – Barangay Cupang Proper concluded its Learning Barangay Week with a General Assembly held at Cupang Integrated School on April 20, 2023.

Highlighted on the event were the reporting of accomplishments by barangay councilors. These accomplishments were made possible with the assistance of the city government, including the provision of CCTV units which aid in monitoring the residents’ safety and security, the Libreng Sakay program for Bataan National High School students from Barangays Cataning, Central, Cupang Proper, Cupang North and Cupang West, and provision of supplies for bedridden residents and wheelchair for PWDs, among others.

On the other hand, Barangay Captain Ms. Alicia Sacdalan thanked the city government, the provincial government, and the offices of Bataan 2nd District Congressional Office and Pusong Pinoy for their continuous support to their barangay through different programs and projects.

On behalf of Vice-Mayor Vianca Lita V. Gozon and the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Councilor Hon. Victor Baluyot complimented the short but concise reporting of the barangay councilors.

Meanwhile, City Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia commended the officials of Barangay Cupang Proper for being very active in public service. He also remembered the late Barangay Captain Mr. Norman Guila for his dedicated service especially during the pandemic. Mayor Garcia also shared some of the programs and projects that are in the pipeline which will benefit the barangay, including the plans for a transport mall, housing, urban planning, and free physical therapy which is expected to be implemented to the public next year.

Also gracing the event was Pusong Pinoy Representative Cong. Jernie Jett V. Nisay. In his message, Cong. Nisay shared some of the benefits of having another representative in the Congress, including more budget which will be utilized to provide greater assistance to the Balangueños and the Bataeños. As additional aid for the residents, Cong. Nisay gave out food packages. This is in addition to the ones given away by the city government through a raffle draw.

Towards the end of the program, Mayor Garcia and Cong. Nisay stayed to personally greet and hear stories from the residents, especially those who are seeking government assistance.
